  Theoretical High Energy Physics
Krzysztof Pilch has been studying string theory and closely related supergravity theories and conformal field theories in various dimensions. His current work concentrates on the remarkable relation between gauged supergravity and quantum super-Yang-Mills theories that is known as the AdS-CFT correspondence. He is also interested in algebraic structures underlying string theory and related quantum field theories. In this area he has worked extensively on free field realizations of infinite dimensional algebras that arise in low dimensional quantum field theories and integrable models such as the affine Lie algebras, the Virasoro algebra, W-algebras and their quantum deformations. He is an expert on the BRST quantization and a co-author of a monograph on the BRST cohomology of W-algebras.
