Embracing 123 Schools covering all branches of science, the Ettore Majorana International Centre for Scientific Culture is situated in the old pre-medieval city of Erice where three restored monasteries provide an appropriate setting. These monasteries are now named after great scientists and strong Centre supporters.
The San Francesco Monastery is the Eugene P. Wigner Institute housing the "Enrico Fermi" Lecture Hall, and the San Rocco Monastery is the Isidor I. Rabi Institute housing the "Richard P. Feynman" Lecture Hall, the Directorate and the main Secretariat of the Centre.
There are living quarters in all three Institutes for people attending the Courses of the Centre.
