D-Clearance Courses
Problem:
Physics 161L, 162L, and 163L are the only D-courses in the Physics & Astronomy Deptartment. To register for one of these courses, you must either
- Be a Physics/Astronomy major
- Have permission from the professor teaching the course
Solution:
If you satisfy either of these requirements, go to the undergraduate
office (SGM 407) to get your D-clearance. You must also register
for the lab session associate with the course. The clearance
for the lab is entered at the same time as for the course.

Prerequisites
Problem:
The prerequisite course for Physics 125aL and 135aL is Math108 or higher. Unfortunately, the registration computer is unable to differentiate between courses which are not exactly Math108.
Solution:
If you have taken a Math course which is equivalent or higher than Math108, either call the undergraduate office (740.1140) or walk in (SGM407) and a prerequisite waiver can be entered for you.

Advisement Holds
Problem:
Physics/Astronomy majors must see their assigned advisors every semester before registering.
Solution:
If you have seen your advisor, bring your signed schedule of courses to the undergraduate office (SGM407) and the advisement hold will be lifted. Alternatively, your advisor can contact us directly.
