Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics |
Gene Bickers has concentrated his efforts on the physics of strongly correlated electrons in solids. His group has developed a set of novel computational schemes for treating electronic tight-binding models and has used these methods to investigate the high-temperature superconductors discovered in the late 1980's. Within the last two years experimental studies have confirmed many of the predictions made by Bickers and collaborators. In addition five or six theoretical groups worldwide now make use of the computational methods developed by Bickers' group.
