How to get to the USC Physics Department
The
USC campus
is located about 2 miles south of
Downtown and 1 mile southwest from the intersection of the Santa Monica
Freeway (I-10) and the Harbor Freeway (I-110).
Coming from I-10 eastbound, take the Vermont exit, and
turn right onto Vermont (southbound).
You will pass a Ralph's supermarket on your left, and cross
an intersection with Adams street.
After a few blocks, the USC campus will be on your left side.
Don't turn left on Jefferson, but stay on Vermont.
Turn left at the next traffic light which is at 36th Place. This is
Gate #6, closest to the physics building.
Tell the attendant that
you are participating in the Condensed Matter Physics Seminar. You will be
given a free parking permit for that day and you can
proceed to Parking Structure A. If there is any trouble obtaining your
parking permit, have the attendant call Lisa in the Physics
Department at extension 01124. Proceed to
Parking Structure A (PSA) which is the tall building on the right
after the gate.
If for any reason there is a problem
with the free parking permit, you can always pay for a one-day parking pass
at the gate and get reimbursed by us later on.
Our offices are located in Seaver Science Center (SSC), which is
across the street from Parking Structure A, behind two wooden
barracks. The seminars are usually held at SSL 150.
